BARF has no source of funding other than from donations by members of the public. We are determined to ensure that all such donations are used efficiently and exclusively in the furtherance of delivering humanitarian aid to the needy people of Bosnia Herzegovina.

There is still a great need for the aid that we bring to Bosnia Herzegovina and we are very keen to continue with our twice yearly aid convoys. However, we have been hit by rising costs. One major item is the ever increasing cost of diesel, our main item of expenditure. In our February 2008 convoy we spent over £3,100 for diesel for the 6 vehicles. The withdrawal of the British Army contingent from Banja Luka in March 2007 has also meant a major increase in costs. We are unable to be accommodated by the British Army and now have no alternative but to use commercial hotels during our stay in Banja Luka - in February 2008, this amounted to over £1,000 for a 4 night stay. If you would like to support BARF with a much needed donation, preferably gift aided, then you can download a Gift Aid donation form click here and send it with your cheque to BARF, 19 Headley Road, Liphook, Hants GU30 7NS. It will be much appreciated and will help us in our struggle to remain an active organisation.

Alternatively, you could organise a sponsored event, using a BARF Sponsor Form, which can be downloaded click here. All you have to do is to get people to complete the form, collect the money and send it to BARF as above.

We are obliged to have a complaints procedure for handling any potential complaints about our Fundraising. Our Chairman, Neil Ross Newitt, is the nominated complaints co-ordinator. Any complaint should be addressed to him directly, either by telephone (01428 729172) or email to: neil.newitt@barff.demon.co.uk or in writing addressed to BARF, 19 Headley Road, Liphook, Hants GU30 7NS. We undertake to respond in writing  to acknowledge your complaint within 14 days and to confirm that the complaint will be dealt with within 30 days. Should you not be satisfied with our response to your complaint, then you can contact the Fundraising Standards Board, Hampton House, 20 Albert Embankment, London SE1 7TJ within 2 months of our response.

BARF Chairman standing back from convoys

Neil Newitt, Chairman and Founder Trustee has decided that, after 20 convoys since 1997, and achieving his 65th birthday in March 2006, he would not participate in any future convoys. However, he will remain very much involved as Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer as well as Administrator organising the myriad bits of paper necessary to transport humanitarian aid from the UK to Bosnia Herzegovina.
